If you are a Giant or Patriot fan and you are skiing on Sunday, Catamount Ski Area located on Route 23 in Hillsdale, NY and S. Egremont, MA is once again ski industry’s version of Ground Zero for Super Bowl Sunday. Little did General Henry Knox know in the winter of 1775 he would pass close to what became Catamount’s entrance. He was in route to Boston where he was bringing Giant cannons from Fort Ticonderoga in NY for George Washington’s army to aid the Patriots in Boston. 237 years later the Giant fans won’t be helping the Patriot fans at Catamount. The only mountain in America this weekend where a true border war exists between New York Giant and New England Patriot fans is at Catamount which lies in both states. You can enjoy fun skiing and riding on 30 trails and terrain park areas and you can compete in the Tug-of-War at the Border, a Box Jam in the Junior Jib Park, a field goal kicking contest inskiboots or a water cup contest on skis or a snowboard at, of all places, Catamount’sborder cross run, on the Sunrise trail. There will be a face painter on the lodge deck painting team logos on cheeks all day. Wear your Giant or Patriot team colors and receive $5.00 off your lift ticket. Contest prizes include lift tickets and you can enter a raffle to win a season pass for next season. There will be lots of fun at The Cat on Sunday and you will have a short drive home in time for pre-game festivities with your family and friends.
